Our mission: to inspire today’s youth and bring the community together to enhance everybody’s wellbeing.
Our Impact
At CommUNITY Little Hulton, we believe strong communities are built when local people come together to support one another.
From our home at Peel Park Pavilion, we provide activities, support, opportunities and everyday connection for residents across Little Hulton and the wider Salford area.
Everything we do is shaped by local people, local need and a belief that communities themselves can create positive change.
A Growing Community Organisation
CommUNITY Little Hulton was created as a legacy organisation from Little Hulton Big Local and became a registered charity in 2019. Since then, the organisation has grown significantly in both reach and impact.
Our growth so far:
Membership growth from 760 members in 2022 to more than 1,470 members by 2026
Annual income increase from £15,145 in 2020/21 to over £250,000 in 2024/25
Peel Park Pavilion becoming a thriving community hub used seven days a week
Recognition as Salford’s first Live Well Centre
Our growth has been driven by listening to local people, responding to community need and building strong partnerships across Little Hulton and Salford, including with local housing provider ForHousing.

We provide support for people of all ages, from young children through to older residents.
Our activities and support include:

Every week, Peel Park Pavilion welcomes residents through its doors for activities, support, friendship and connection.
Tackling Isolation and Improving Wellbeing
One of the biggest differences we make is helping people feel connected, supported and part of their community.
Many residents who access our services describe Peel Park Pavilion as:
a safe space
a welcoming environment
somewhere they feel accepted without judgement
Residents regularly tell us that attending activities has:
improved confidence
reduced isolation
supported mental wellbeing
helped build friendships and support networks
As one resident shared:
“The Pavilion is a safe place and a place to be among friends; it’s a community in itself.”
Supporting Children and Young People
Young people remain at the heart of our work.
Through Youth Unity, we provide a range of activities and opportunities for children and young people including:
junior youth sessions
youth cafés
bike track sessions
forest school activities
targeted SEND provision
holiday activities
We aim to create positive, supportive environments where young people can:
build confidence
develop skills
improve wellbeing
feel part of their community
We are particularly proud of the opportunities we provide for young people to progress into volunteering and leadership roles within the organisation.
Supporting Children with SEND
Little Hulton has some of the highest levels of SEND need across Salford. Through listening to local families and reviewing our services, we recognised the need for more targeted support for children with additional needs.
In response, we developed:
SEND Forest School provision
Saturday IS Funday short break sessions
targeted youth activities
inclusive holiday provision
Parents have described the difference these sessions make to their children’s confidence, social interaction and sense of belonging.
One parent shared:
“You have made A feel accepted and included in a group.”
A Community Hub at the Heart of Little Hulton
Since taking on Peel Park Pavilion in 2021, we have helped transform it into a vibrant and welcoming community space.
The Pavilion is now home to:
community groups
wellbeing activities
support services
training opportunities
family activities
social groups
partnership projects
Alongside our own activities, we work with a wide range of community organisations, charities and public sector partners to bring services directly into the heart of Little Hulton.
Creating Opportunities
Volunteering, training and employment support are central to our work.
We provide:
volunteering opportunities
work placements
skills development
catering experience
community leadership opportunities
pathways into employment
Our volunteers and placements help local people:
build confidence
improve wellbeing
develop new skills
gain valuable work experience
Working in Partnership
We believe communities are strongest when organisations work together.
We work alongside:
Albert Gubay Foundation
Salford City Council
Salford CVS
Greater Manchester Live Well
Access Sport
Foundation 92
ForHousing
local schools
local businesses
health partners
grassroots community organisations
The Albert Gubay Foundation provided funding support for Peel Park Pavilion, helping create a welcoming and accessible community space for local residents.
Together, we are helping create a healthier, more connected and more resilient Little Hulton.
Community-Led Change
Community involvement sits at the heart of everything we do.
As a membership charity, local people help shape our priorities, activities and future direction.
We regularly:
consult residents
involve community researchers
gather feedback
support community voting
involve local people in decision-making
Through our Live Well work, over 600 residents took part in community voting to help decide how local funding should be distributed.
Looking Ahead
We are proud of how far CommUNITY Little Hulton has come, but we know there is still more to do.
Our ambition is to continue developing Peel Park Pavilion as:
a welcoming community hub
a place of everyday support
a centre for wellbeing and connection
somewhere local people feel safe, valued and included
Together, we are helping ensure Little Hulton is not left behind.
